One of a kind western accessory and gift—The Miniature Whip Hatband

While these miniature whips may function, they are not made to take the abuse of a standard whip.

These miniature whips are constructed with 275 nylon cord and include a hand-turned hard maple or oak handle. The overlay is 10-plait and finished with the traditional tapering twist. Each mini cow whip also has a fall and cracker for aesthetic purposes.

These mini whips are not waxed. Since this whip is not designed for functionality, it does not need wax. However, the primary reason I forgo the wax is so that it does not damage or stain hats and clothing when being worn/used.

About the Miniature Whip hatband

 

As a whipmaker, I am not only looking for new projects to tackle but I also like to display my craft and keep the tradition alive. Initially, I had made a miniature whip from standard 550 paracord but it didn’t cut it.

After experimenting with 275 nylon cord for stock whips, I decided to try my hand at using it for a smaller whip what could be worn around the crown of my hat. The Florida cow whip is my personal favorite whip to create, with a rich history of working cattle here in the Sunshine state, even to this day.

This whip is simply a unique hand-crafted piece that nods to a western tradition and acknowledges a beautiful and fading way of life.

Your order will include one custom handmade hatband in a Whips by Hunter giftbox. Please note: hat not included.
